When I see The Connection
Perri and Sam’s Engagement Session kicked off Sunday evening at sunset during the Live in Lincoln Park music festival. Music plays such a huge role in Sam and Perri’s life that the couple wanted to incorporate a meaningful location where the two felt comfortable and at home and what better place for the couple than a music festival that featured headliners The Original Wailers and Mike Gordon, bassist from the band Phish. Phish has been a passion for Sam specifically for many years. He has been a long-time volunteer employee for the band’s non-profit organization, The Waterwheel Foundation. The mission of WaterWheel’s Touring Division has been to raise funds for pre-selected non-profits in each community that Phish visits while on tour. The foundation chooses non-profits to help such as social services, primarily those benefiting women and children; environmental, with a focus on clean water and land conservation with public access; as well as food banks, urban gardening and more.
Perri and Sam’s session transitioned into morning as we met again just a few hours later at practically the same location – Lincoln Park’s North Avenue Beach – to capture portraits of the couple and their dog, Tucker, with the sun rising over Lake Michigan in front of the magnificent Chicago skyline.
Perri and Sam are definitely two Birds of a Feather: The two knew they had to end their engagement portraits in Lincoln Park Zoo’s South Pond Nature Pavilion sporting their Phish shirts.
