Indian Pakistani Spring Wedding at Shalimar Banquets
Fiaz & Kiren both met in the Fall of 2015. Their first date consisted of strolling through Millennium Park, eating a Sundae at the Ghirardelli and then spending all night talking on the Riverwalk.”
The couple’s relationship is unique in the sense that they come from two different backgrounds (Indian & Pakistani), 2 different states (West Virginia & Illinois) and their entire relationship, up until their wedding, was long distance. Not many couples could say they have been through something similar. Kiren confides, “Living apart during the wedding planning was difficult to say the least. We had to plan as much wedding planning in 2 day increments when we would be together every couple months. A lot had to be done electronically and at the end we had to trust each other because we couldn’t confer every detail. It wasn’t always the easiest but we both believe that going through both those times have only made us stronger and closer.”
When it came time for Faiz to pop the question he went all out with the help of some friendly beluga whales at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium. Kiren recalls, “We took part in the Beluga encounter where the whale brought a surprise box at the end and Faiz popped the question in the water.” Going all out though is something Kiren & Faiz excel at in their relationship. From their incredible multi-day ceremonies to their amazing honeymoon in Phuket, Thailand where the two kayaked in the sea and played with elephants, this couple loves creating exceptional experiences.
An extraordinary and unexpected snow storm pummeled the Midwest in April on the couple’s wedding day. Faiz offered advice for other wedding couples facing unanticipated weather conditions on their wedding day: “Try to plan as much as you can but be prepared because the day of the wedding some things will change and you just have to let it go and enjoy your day! Just go with the flow and don’t get caught up if plans have to change due to weather. Make the best with what you have because the time goes by so fast.”
When it came to their whirlwind wedding weekend the couple attributes its success to their parents, siblings and Faiz’s Best Man, Nathan. “Without a wedding planner it took a lot to organize 4 events in 3 days and they all went above and beyond.”
Congratulations Kiren & Dr. Ahmed! It was such an absolute pleasure getting to know you, your family and friends and an honor to photograph you two throughout the past year leading up until your incredible wedding weekend this Spring
